Direct Category Manager Woven & Non-Woven Textiles

This position can be based out of Locations:
Northeast GA/Atlanta GA/Chattanooga, TN/Houston, TX

The First 90 days will need to be onsite to learn the company, system, Structures, once you finish the position will need only 1 or 2 days in the office per week!

Job Description:

As a Direct Materials Category Manager in the Geotextile and Geomembrane Industry, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the procurement, across 7 facilities, and management of all direct materials not related to resin within our product portfolio. Role will require an understanding of market forces, cost drivers and technological trends, in specific direct material categories, that affect short- and long-term material forecasts and strategies.

Categories included are:
Finished/Semi-Finished goods

( Scrim Fabrics, Slit Tape / Slit Film, Extruded Fibers (needle punching)
Additives / Colorants
Woven and Non-Woven materials
Packaging

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional who can leverage their expertise in category management, negotiation, and knowledge of the geosynthetics market to optimize our supply chain and contribute to our continued success.

Key Responsibilities:
Category Management: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for direct materials, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and targets.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, fostering partnerships that drive cost efficiencies, quality improvements, and innovation.
Negotiation: Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers while ensuring the highest quality and performance standards.
RFx Processes: RFI, RFP, RFQ
Market Analysis: Continuously monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
Cost Optimization: Implement cost reduction initiatives and value engineering programs to improve overall profitability and cost competitiveness.
Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure uninterrupted material availability and minimize disruptions.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to maintain and improve product quality and compliance with industry standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and R&D, to drive innovation and ensure successful new product introductions.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and compliance requirements related to direct materials procurement.

Qualifications:

Education:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (college degree preferred).

Experience:
3-5 years of direct category management experience, preferably in the geotextile and geomembrane industry.
Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successfully negotiating favorable agreements.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge within the geosynthetics market.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in supply chain management software, Excel, Tableau, Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A commitment to upholding ethical and professional standards.
Experience in ERP platforms: Dynamics365, SAP, AS400 is a plus.
