Direct Hire: Senior Tax Accountant (onsite) - Fast Hire

The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting in the planning and preparing of income tax returns, quarterly tax estimates, and relevant tax calculations. This position also supports other departments with all income tax-related matters, responds to notices from tax authorities, and general ledger analysis. The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and knowledge in areas of corporate federal and state and local income tax, sales and use tax, business tax, property tax, and information tax.

• Assists manager in managing comprehensive sales and use tax functions, including monthly compliance, multi-state sales and use taxability with regards to all company matrices, issuing tax-exempt certificates, maintaining and reconciling sales and use tax liabilities monthly, updating current tax rules and tax legislation changes to comply with applicable tax rates and other reporting requirements, research sales tax issue.         
• Resolve sales tax issues with customers.
• Review assigned sales tax codes for new products in the US and Canada.
• Assists in the preparation and filing of Corporation federal, international, state, and local tax returns.
• Prepares supporting work papers and files federal, state, and local income tax returns for the US and Canada.
• Review and prepare quarterly income tax estimates and related remittance vouchers to process payments.               
• Prepares and files monthly, quarterly, and annual business tax returns.   
• Prepares and files annual business personal property tax returns.
• Maintains and updates fixed assets and related reconciliations/roll forwards.       
• Maintains adequate records and work papers supporting tax positions.
• Analyzes general ledger details to ensure proper classification of posted transactions.
• Researches legislative materials to identify new filing obligations and compliance exposure.           
• Respond to and resolve tax notices and/ or information requests from tax authorities.
• Collaborate proactively with other departments to ensure proper sales & use tax are billed to customers or accounted for in project forecasts.
• Month-end financial close, including reconciliation and analysis of general ledger tax accounts and assisting with the year-end audit process.
• Assist in managing domestic and foreign tax audits.
• Oversee and review tax returns, conducting meticulous tax research independently.
• Assist with other special projects as assigned.
