DIRECT SERVICE COORDINATOR

Reports to: Branch Director, Cape Girardeau
Job Summary: The Direct Services Coordinator oversees the development and management of the direct services including the operations and staff/volunteers of the clothing closet and food pantry.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Leadership and Management
- Create a warm and inviting shopping experience for clients served
- Greet clients and donors with a friendly, service-based attitude
- Connect families to community resources as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring the workload of staff/volunteers and adjust as needed and create a sense of team within the department
- Ensure systems are efficient for clothing closet donation, sorting, and distribution including inventory management
- Ensure the clothing closet areas are organized and clean at all times
- Oversee process and pick-up of donations and deliveries from community partners as needed or
- Document all client distribution in internal database no later than the end of business each Friday, preferably daily
- Document all donor information in donor database within specified guidelines
- Coordinate, organize, and operate give-away events including but not limited to the school supply and Christmas assistance outreach programs. Responsible for employee/volunteer/and client satisfaction within the clothing closet and food pantry. Strive to build a strong sense of team within the department
- Attend trainings/meetings as
- Responsible for making community connections to increase program referrals, funding, and donation support as needed to serve clients in any of FAC programs
- Community presentations are required; a minimum of 2 presentations and/or community outreach events are required quarterly
- Responsible for volunteer recruitment and oversight in the program
- Participate as an active team member with all agency departments
- Maintain strong, open communication with direct supervisor regarding services delivered, concerns or questions
- As applicable with each resource center, record the refrigerator and freezer temperatures twice daily
Outcome Planning/PQI/Reports
- Complete agency reports and statistics as needed or assigned
- Ensure procedures are followed to complete the Daily Sales Log and upload the Daily Sales report at the end of business each day
Strategic Planning and Program Management
- Provide input in short- and long-term strategic planning for the Direct Service department with a focus on increasing number of clients served and daily sales
- Implement growth strategies as
- Maximize daily sales through monthly promotional events and posting Daily/Weekly Hot Deals
- Work in conjunction with the marketing department to film and post Daily Hot Deals
- Ensure clothing pricing system is efficient for promoting affordable clothing while also capitalizing on nicer items that can be priced higher
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- BA in human services field (or 2 years experience
working retail and community outreach)
- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems
- Core understanding of program development, organization, implementation, planning
and evaluation
- Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills. Quickly establish rapport and build trust; strong verbal communication skills
- Flexible and a self-starter; multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines.
- Model ethical and professional behavior at all times
- Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions
- Flexibility and adaptability, shift styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations
