BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:
The Direct Service Provider in culinary arts will provide training, supervision and instructions to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a commercial kitchen setting. The DSP in culinary arts will report to the Program Innovation Leader (PIL) and Director of Programs/Executive Chef.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
General:
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Must pass a fingerprint and criminal background check.
· Hold a current California driver’s license, able to drive a passenger van and have a clean driving record.
· Can lift a minimum of 45lbs.
· Strong communication and teambuilding skills.
· Willingness to learn and be flexible to changing State and program requirements.
· Able to be patient and work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a respectful and professional manner.
· Strong computer skills and able to navigate programs for data entry and recording.
· Organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Must have a high school diploma or GED, some college preferred.
· Able to work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
· Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English. Bilingual preferred.
· Able to successfully complete organizational provided Red Cross First Aid and CPR Training.
· Experience with providing group supervision of a minimum of 4 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
· Able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate within 3 months
· Minimum of 1 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen or food industry
