Job Description - Direct Support Caregiver

ExpertCare provides support services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We work toward a common goal of empowering individuals to achieve self-independence and reach their full potential.

We are currently looking for a caring and compassionate Direct Support Caregiver in the Metro Detroit area to join our team. Hours are flexible for work-life balance, afternoon availability required. No experience necessary! Apply now!

Requirements:

Must be at least 18
Be able to pass a background and driving record check
Valid driver’s license with car insurance
Clean driving record (No more than 3 points currently)
Reliably show up to shifts (Afternoon shifts ranging from 2pm to 4pm starting time)
Caregivers must complete required training before starting with their recipient (we will provide paid training after job offer)

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Provide compassionate one to one support in homes
Assist with daily activities such as meal prep, dressing, hygiene prompting as required
Work with the recipient on the goals in their individual plan of service to help them become as independent as possible (these goals vary)
Help provide engaging and stimulating activities
Monitor and ensure the individual’s safety and well-being
Implement care plans
Engage in skill-building activities that empower and encourage growth
Help individuals nurture their personal goals
