Direct Support Personnel (Lincoln Program)

CCAR Industries is searching for a full-time, 35 hour per week direct support person to work at our Lincoln Avenue day program. Direct support personnel (DSPs) support individuals with developmental disabilities as they engage in organized activities and enjoy leisure time activities. The DSP will transport individuals to activities in the community and to/from the day program in agency-owned vehicles. In addition, they work as a team to plan recreational activities in the community. 

SCHEDULE

This is a permanent full-time, daytime position on Monday - Friday from 7 am - 2 pm (35 hours/week). Weekends and major holidays off.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid driver's license
  


• Must be 18 years old


• Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS CANTS background check.


• Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a direct support role is preferred, but related caregiving experience will be considered. 


• Must be able to work independently or as a team
  


• Demonstrate timeliness and accuracy in documentation 

WAGES

This position starts at $17.25/hour with a $0.50 increase when training is complete.
