Job Summary
We are seeking multiple Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by enhancing their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene needs, meal preparation, light housekeeping and errands, dispensing medication, and other tasks that improve the resident's living environment and standards. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, pays attention to details and is reliable. This is a non-exempt level position.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision to residents
- Assist with personal hygiene needs and dressing
- Prepare daily meals and snacks in accordance with the menu
- Light housekeeping activities
- Dispense medication
- Provide companionship
- Assist with errands and shopping
- Lead resident's through their goals
- Work towards independence skills
- Document daily progress towards goals
- Supervise resident's during community outings
- Transport resident's to locations identified in daily schedule
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
- First aid and CPR-certified
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping tasks and cooking skills
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
- Ability to lift heaving objects
- Compassionate, respectful, ethical
Requirements
- Must be available to work weekend shifts
- Must pass criminal record clearance with the FBI & DOJ
- Must have valid CA driver's license
- Must pass TB test and physical exam prior to onboarding
- Must be willing to work overtime (Rare but does occur) if needed
Shifts
- Monday - Friday (2:00pm-10:00pm)
- Saturday - Sunday (8:00am-4:00pm)
- Saturday - Sunday (2:00pm-10:00pm)
- NOC - Monday - Sunday (10:00pm - 8:30am)
- Full time & part time available
Work Hazards
- Employees will adhere to the behavior plan set forth for each specific resident
- Employees will be expected to redirect maladaptive behaviors using ABA therapy
Compensation
- $17.00 - $18.00 per hour depending on experience

Journey Together Care Home is an adult residential facility providing 24-hour non-medical care and supervision to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
We are partnered with Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center and are fully funded by the regional center.
Our purpose goes beyond the scope of our mission statement. Journey Together Care Home is here to make a positive impact on the lives of our persons served. We are here to create a home and a family. Journey Together Care Home’s goals for the program are to increase the people's access to the day to day and special activities in their community, to increase participation in activities with non-disabled individuals, increase and improve positive behaviors within the home and in public, and to increase self-care and independent skills of persons served in the home and in the community. Individuals will be given choice and inclusion in all aspects of their daily lives.
