About the Role:


Join Gateway Residential Services as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities. We are dedicated to empowering our clients to achieve their personal goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.


Current position includes the following days and times.  This position is located on the Eastside of Indianapolis working with 
1 female in her home.  Must have experience working with an individual with behavioral challenges. Orientation and training are completed in the Gateway Office; shadow time is done in the home with the Program Coordinator of the site.  


  • Monday to Friday 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, every other weekend.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.

  • Encourage social interactions and community involvement through planned activities.

  • Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the supervisory team.

  • Maintain a safe and clean-living environment for clients.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized support plans.

  • Facilitate skill-building activities that promote independence and self-advocacy.

  • Adhere to all company policies and state regulations regarding client care and safety.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications preferred.

  • Experience in direct support or caregiving roles is a plus.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with clients and families.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Background check clearance as required by state regulations.
