Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing high-quality assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will support clients in reaching their personal goals, enhancing their quality of life, and fostering independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities including socialization skills, recreation skills, meal preparation, escorting to medical appointments, and completing daily documentation accurately.
• Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
• Encourage and support client participation in community activities and social events.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and service delivery in accordance with agency policies.
• Provide emotional support and build positive, respectful relationships with clients.
• Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all clients.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or degree in human services preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role or in the field of developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and understanding of client needs.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and composure.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for transporting clients.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
