If you're looking for a new adventure that will have a lasting impact on yourself and others, THIS JOB IS FOR YOU!?  Join us as we open a brand new adult day program in Somerset, PA.  An Adult Day Program is a program for adults diagnosed with an intellectual/developmental disability that is built around the individual, what they love, what they’re great at, helps them build new skills and takes them out into the community.

1. Create opportunities for individuals to participate in group activities within the day program facility as well as within the local community.   
2. Assist individuals with being involved in new experiences giving them the potential to develop and foster relationships and contribute to their community. 
3. Help the individuals with developing social skills in the community and building inclusion within their local community. 
4. Aid the individuals in exploring personal interests by participating in community opportunities related to the development of hobbies, leisure interests, cultural interests, or personal health and wellness. 
5. Plan activities for the individual which are based on the individual’s strengths and preferences and support them to live a full, meaningful community-based life. 
6. Transport a group of individuals throughout the local community to the activities using company vehicles. 
7. Maintain the cleanliness of the day program and company vehicle to offer individuals the utmost comfortable experience. 
8. Complete daily documentation on all individuals’ daily interactions. 

Day Program DSP Skills and Requirements: 

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families/guardians, and their other team of support leaders. 
• Compassionate and patient demeanor to provide emotional support to individuals. 
• Minimum of 18 years of age. 
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Valid, current PA driver’s license and successfully complete a driving history record check.? 
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen and criminal background check. 
• Reliable transportation to travel to Somerset with the possibility of traveling to future day programs in other locations.  
• We are open to full-time and part-time schedules. The day program will typically operate Monday-Friday.
