Direct Support Professional (DSP) – High-Care Weekend Position
Schedule: Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM Position Type: Part-Time Weekend Location: Central Office in Sedalia, MO; Home in Smithton, MO Pay: Competitive; ($20 Starting) based on experience (Pay includes high-care differential)
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a high-care individual with behavioral and personal care needs in a residential setting. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, confident, and comfortable providing hands-on support while following behavior support and safety plans.
This is a long shift, high-impact role, and consistency is critical. The right candidate understands the importance of routine, calm support, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
Provide direct personal care, including assistance with hygiene, toileting, dressing, and daily living activities
Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in individualized support plans
Maintain close supervision to ensure safety at all times
Support emotional regulation using approved coping strategies and de-escalation techniques
Assist with meals, hydration monitoring, and medication administration (per training and certification)
Participate in community activities and transportation as appropriate
Accurately complete shift documentation and incident reports
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
Maintain a calm, professional demeanor during high-stress situations
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or GED
Ability to perform physical tasks.
Comfortable working with individuals who have significant behavioral and support needs
Ability to remain patient, calm, and consistent
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if transporting)
Must pass background checks and required screenings
Preferred Experience
DSP, CNA, RBT, behavioral health, or similar experience
Experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or behavioral challenges
Familiarity with behavior support plans (BSPs), de-escalation techniques, or ABA-informed care
