Direct Support Specialist - Community Based Program

We are filling roles in our Community Based Day Services program. These positions promote the development of skill acquisition and experiential learning through community exploration.

You will provide direct care and supervision to all program participants while focusing on health and safety, skill acquisition, social skills, daily living skills, advocacy skills, and community participation, in accord with individual choice and human rights. Work is performed in the day center and in community settings as appropriate.

Additional supports include working with individuals in skill building groups and activities including social skills, communication and language, academics, vocational skills, community behavior and activities of daily living. You will utilize strategies to teach social and communication skills.

Qualifications:

• No experience necessary, we will train the right people!


• Minimum of high school degree or GED. Must be at least 21.


• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.


• Ability to lift and support body weight of any program individual with the assistance of another employee.


• MUST HAVE: Valid Driver's License and a CLEAN driving record and a willingness to use agency vehicle in the course of employment.


• Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirement

$2,000.00 New Hire Bonus offered after successful introductory period for Full Time hires, and $1000 for Part Time hires. Paid out in two installments at 3 months & 6 months. Terms and conditions apply.

Hours: Full-Time hours available 7:30AM to 3:30PM or 8:00AM to 4:00PM
