About Us

The Goddard School® in Cypress, TX is a premier early childhood education center focused on nurturing children’s development through play-based learning. We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Preschool Director to oversee daily operations, manage a passionate team of educators, and ensure compliance with Texas HHS Child Care Licensing standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Licensing

Serve as Director per Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers

Ensure full compliance with state and local licensing requirements

Maintain child/staff ratios, training records, safety procedures, and documentation

Lead regulatory inspections, audits, and emergency preparedness

Leadership & Staff Management

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate staff

Foster a positive, high-performance school culture

Ensure all staff meet annual training and certification requirements

Conduct regular team meetings and professional development

Curriculum & Program Oversight

Implement The Goddard School’s play-based curriculum

Support teachers in developing developmentally appropriate lesson plans

Monitor classroom quality and provide coaching as needed

Family & Community Engagement

Maintain strong communication and relationships with families

Address parent concerns with professionalism and care

Represent the school in community outreach and events

Finance & Administration

Manage school budget, staffing plans, and enrollment targets

Maintain accurate records for billing, licensing, and operations

Partner with ownership team on long-term strategy and growth

Qualifications

Required (per Texas HHS Licensing):

Must be age 21+

Must meet Texas Director qualifications, such as:
- Bachelor’s degree (with at least 12 ECE credits) and 1 year experience in a licensed center, OR
- Associate degree in ECE and 2 years of experience, OR
- Child-Care Administrator Credential and 2 years of experience

Eligible to be listed as Director with Texas Child Care Licensing

Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting

Current or obtainable CPR/First Aid certification

Preferred:

3+ years experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting

Strong leadership and team-building skills

Excellent written and verbal communication

Deep understanding of early childhood development
