Summary of Role:
Title: Director, Analog Mixed Signal Design
We are seeking a Director, Analog Mixed Signal Design Leader with deep expertise in building Analog and Mixed Signal IP
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead Analog and Mixed Signal IP design for products developed by MIPS covering industrial, automotive and other end-equipment. Define and execute analog and mixed signal IP covering signal chain and power IP such as ADC, DAC, amplifiers, LDO, DC-DC, PLL, DLL etc.
Strong Demonstrated Design leadership with deeper expertise in analog, mixed-signal design. Strong and demonstrated evidence of past leadership in developing advanced analog mixed signal IP across different technology nodes. Experience in latest technology nodes is an added advantage
Cross-collaboration and system level leadership working closely with different disciplines such as SoC Design, Board/System level design, and customers to develop compelling and differentiated solutions. Strong understanding of system level issues, performance, area trade-offs, reliability considerations and proven low-power design expertise addressing markets across portable/mobile, Industrial and Automotive
Driving roadmap, innovation to address key analog, mixed-signal IP needs across SoC platforms covering different technology nodes. Address technology node gaps with innovative circuit design techniques, working closely with design team/foundry teams influencing component and product level roadmaps. Drive a culture of strong innovation in building industry differentiated IP on GF technology nodes highlighting technology advantages
Validation and Characterization skills on post-silicon. Ability to define validation and characterization requirements. Understanding spec compliance requirement needs and drive validation teams. Define architecture to meet Design For Test (DFT) requirements and document bring-up, initialization procedures. Drive design for test cost reductions where applicable
Mentorship and leadership in providing technical guidance and mentorship to other junior engineers working in the team. Lead and manage the team in setting the team direction, align with business and product priorities and drive on-time deliverables. Providing technical guidance and technical SME across teams on topics related to analog, mixed signal
Customer and IP partner support leadership to drive technical alignment, discussions and execution. Drive customer discussions and align both internal product and technology roadmaps. Drive direct support of customers on topics related to analog, mixed signal design
Stay current with the latest trends in semiconductor design, drive design innovations, providing technical leadership and mentoring within the Hardware engineering team. Participate in internal and external technical forums and lead next generation IP development
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 15+ years of experience in analog mixed signal design. Minimum 10+ years of experience in leading small to medium teams and delivering complex analog IP required. Proven expertise across technology nodes is required
Deep understanding of different design considerations and interactions with digital and analog domains required. Experience in ESD, high voltage design and proven record of meeting power, performance and area requirements
Working knowledge and understanding of industry-standard EDA tools for design and simulation such as Cadence, Synopsys, Keysight, Ansys etc.
Strong analytical and debugging skills: Ability to identify, assess, and aid in debugging complex problems. Proven silicon bring-up and debugging skills required. Familiarity with lab equipment required
Excellent communication and documentation skills: Capable of producing clear, comprehensive requirements and architecture and design documentation for both internal and external usage
Collaborative mindset: Comfortable working in global, cross-disciplinary teams and engaging directly with customers and partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ISO 26262/IEC 61508: Experience in applying the standard throughout the development lifecycle, especially at the semiconductor IP and SoC level
Contributions to Industry relevant standards, active participation in technical conferences and articles highly desired
Expected Salary Range
$191,000.00 - $332,000.00
