General Summary: The Director of Analytics Enablement will leverage Tableau and Alteryx platforms to drive data-driven insights and translate them into tangible business value. This role requires a unique blend of technical, data, and analytical expertise alongside a business strategist mindset. The successful candidate will oversee multi-disciplinary teams responsible for building data sources, developing data pipelines, and applying a broad array of analytics tools and predictive models.

As a key leadership position, this role demands strong partnerships across business areas to advance the use of analytics. The Director will provide strategic analytical input, utilizing new data assets and tools to improve and transform existing business processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive business results.

The ideal candidate will lead a data and analytics team in real business applications, serving as a critical bridge between data development and business partners to optimize business performance.

This is a hybrid (3x per week) position located in Portland, ME, Chattanooga, TN, and Atlanta, GA.

Job Specifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience using financial technology platforms for data-driven insights and analytics.
Advanced experience with cloud-based Fintech platforms, preferably Tableau, Alteryx, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of using Fintech software to modify, enhance, or automation financial services.
Demonstrated ability to influence change and lead adoption efforts.
Proven collaborative and negotiation skills with finance and technology stakeholders.
Familiarity with Agile methodology or project management tools.
Excellent ability to interpret or correlate an extensive variety of information and decompose complex analytical and technical problems and translate them into simple business solutions to be presented to key stakeholders.
Ability to think conceptually, handle ambiguity, solve complex problems and make thoughtful recommendations.
Excellent communications skills and abilities working with all corporate levels including senior management and external contacts.
Provides coaching and mentoring for junior team members.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for defining their team's analytics strategy in partnership with Leadership across the organization. Define the tools, methodologies and staff mix utilized by the team as well as project priorities for the department.
Define, develop and implement best practices in support of data & analytics projects to drive consistency and standardization of data usage and analytics practices
Drive business stakeholder buy-in for data consumption, operationally and analytically.
Responsible for recruiting, training, performance management, coaching, development and retention of staff is at its highest level. Builds bench strength, retaining and motivating high performers.
Oversees the construction of predictive models, data pipelines and analytics workflows in the support of operational and analytics objectives. Will also meaningfully contribute to the development of these assets as necessary.
Work with partners to translate business needs into a technical plan, identify available data, communicate findings and results, and develop implementation strategies.
Provides consulting support to business areas around conformance to corporate policies/procedures and controls, compliance as needed.
Understand theory and application of current and emerging analysis methods and data tooling to drive and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
Identify internal and external data sources, construct analytical databases and develop data pipelines that enhance business performance.
Discuss data transformation, integration, and reporting requirements with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Will oversee the mentoring and training of team members on the usage of statistical methods, tools and development of data assets.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$109,100.00-$213,300.00 Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
