Job Summary:
The Director & Coach, National Team, is responsible for overseeing all operational components and staff for the National Team (NT) Division. This role will also oversee all NT and National Junior Team (NJT) selection processes – including developing international competition selection procedures, coach selection framework, and Athlete Performance Funding (“APF”) criteria. The Director will work closely with the Managing Director, National Team to support the National Team at the highest level and will share oversight of the NJT alongside the National Junior Team Director. This position will work to develop strong working relationships with elite coaches, athletes, and volunteers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership, management, and oversight for National Team operations.
Lead and manage National Team and National Junior Team selections, including:
Authoring and implementing international competition selection procedures.
Developing Athlete Performance Funding criteria and overseeing selection.
Oversee the strategic planning and coordination of National Team site visits.
Collaborate with the Director, National Junior Team on shared program oversight.
Author annual High Performance Plan for submission to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC)
Coordinate logistics and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including additional USA Swimming staff, USOPC staff, and local organizing committees.
Serve as coach at domestic and international camps.
Travel domestically and internationally for competitions, site visits, and camps.
Other duties, as assigned.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in sports management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
2-3 years of swim coaching experience at the international or collegiate level preferred.
Experience in sports administration or management, particularly within high-performance environments.
Demonstrated success in coordinating and managing large teams or programs.
Familiarity with National Governing Body (NGB) structures, roles, and objectives, and an understanding of the Olympic movement and athlete support systems.
Proven experience coordinating and managing large groups or teams.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 30% of the year.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
This position works in an office setting in the USA Swimming headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO; must be willing to relocate to Colorado Springs, CO, or the surrounding area.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000 annually.
Bonus Eligibility: Based on company performance, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus target of 7.50%.
