Centennial is seeking a

Director, Business Development - Legionella

to lead the growth efforts for Legionella testing in an organization that provides microbiology and analytical chemistry laboratory services to companies around the world. The right candidate will have extensive knowledge of the water treatment industry and be looking for an opportunity to prove their ability to increase revenue and drive new business by leveraging existing water treatment industry connections.

The hired candidate will be joining an established organization that offers comprehensive microbiology, analytical chemistry, and research & development laboratory services. With an independent laboratory, combining state-of-the-art technology with personal service and attention, this organization provides a superior level of scientific excellence combined with unmatched customer service and responsiveness.

This opportunity, located in Cincinnati, OH, requires a well-established network within the water treatment industry. The employee will sell Legionella testing services through water treatment management companies (distribution model). Legionella testing experience is not required (but preferred). Candidates that have sold goods or services to water treatment companies (chemicals, chillers, boilers, dispensers, pumps, etc.) are good potential candidates for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Drive new business development through networking with established contacts in the water treatment industry.
Prospect, make calls, set meetings, generate & present proposals, and provide account management for current and future clients.
Identify customers water treatment needs and provide customized solutions that leverage the organizations competitive advantages.
Support the negotiation of new business closure, promoting sustained revenue.
Grow existing revenue streams and identify new opportunities to increase profitability; develop new clients and strengthen existing partnerships.
Work closely with internal technical resources, operations, and laboratory analysts to provide best-in-class testing solutions and customer service.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and developments; utilize knowledge for new business development towards sustained growth.

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent ability to maintain client relationships and establish industry partnerships.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of the sales life cycle and demonstrated ability to source and close business deals.
Deep understanding of the water treatment industry and related regulations, testing, and client needs, preferred.

Experience and Education:

Strong, existing network within water treatment industry and related service providers
5+ years of water treatment industry experience; technical sales experience preferred.
Bachelors degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, engineering, sales, business, or related area preferred.
Previous experience with Legionella testing in laboratory environments, a plus.
