Job Description - Director, Business & Financial/Auxiliary Services (20248)

Florida A&M University´s Business & Auxiliary Services is pleased to announce he acceptance of qualified applications for the Director, Business & Financial/Auxiliary Services vacancy.

Responsibilities

Provides management and direction for the budgetary, accounting, and audit functions of Business and Auxiliary Services; Advises the Assistant Vice President as required; Provides specific supervision of all fiscal personnel; Ensures that each fiscal personnel is trained on applicable federal, state, university and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to fiscal matters; and Responsible for all personnel/human resources matters for Business and Auxiliary services (BAS).

Responsible for ensuring all financial activity is accurately and timely conducted; Financial activities includes cash reconciliations, monitoring and collection of accounts receivables, processing of accounts payables, monitoring of in-kind contributions, monitoring and verification of insurance certificates, and financial close-out; Responsible for ensuring applicable contract deliverables i.e. commissions, sponsorships, donations, certified financial reports, etc. are entered into RevenueVision for monitoring, tracking and reporting; and Ensures reports are provided to management as specified.

Monitors departmental budgets to actual activity; Researches variances and advices the Assistant Vice President of significant variances; Conducts budget checks of expenditures prior to processing; Ensures operational budget requests are developed, approved and submitted timely; Responsible for providing financial data to internal and external entities for reporting purposes; and Assists with the development and implementation of internal operational policies and procedures that are applicable to all areas of BAS.

Informs subordinates of all relevant University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures and provides access to all related documents; Assesses and documents subordinates' ability to comply with all relevant University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures; Employs measures of accountability for compliance with University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures; and Conducts and documents performance evaluations in a timely manner for each subordinate, in accordance with University Regulations and Internal Operating Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and eight years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and six years of related experience.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
