Job Description - Director, Business Qualification, Corp Action, and Pricing

Job Description:

Role

The Director supervises a staff of associates performing DC (Defined Contribution) functions Mutual Fund Qualification, Corporate Actions, while supporting a manager who leads the Late-Night Pricing functions. This role manages a team who supervises the processing related to Business Qualification and Corporate Action events. In addition, this role is responsible for broad, firm wide initiatives with operational and technology business partners, performs analysis associated with business trends, resolves audit issues, and owns key SOC 1 controls within the function.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accountable for key talent management, including hiring, goal setting, performance reviews and other career development activities for the team

  • Evaluates team efficiency and proposes appropriately ambitious, yet realistic strategies for improvement, initiative, and achievement of results.

  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and dedication to achieving substantial short- and long-term results.

  • Actively collaborates with people in other parts of the organization to solve problems, access resources, and accomplish meaningful goals. Organizations include outside mutual fund companies, external trustees, internal WI Operations & Client Management groups, WI Systems.

  • Implement initiatives such as: Implementation of new technology solutions, etc., in order to meet SLAs and improve the customer experience; lead initiatives to resolve gaps and optimize the participant experience.



The Expertise and Skills We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, or Finance preferred

  • Experience in the financial services industry

  • Proven Leadership Skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Prior people management experience required

  • Prior experience of driving process automation and innovation

  • An ability to cultivate a highly interactive and engaged work environment

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Your ability to provide feedback to associates during individual coaching session to improve their quality, efficiency, and abilities.

  • Dedication to drive quality and operational improvements in a fast paced and high risk business environment

  • Your expertise and willingness in developing our associates to full potential and driving career growth

  • Is responsible for the resolution of major interpersonal issues that span multiple departments throughout Fidelity, as well as impacting clients. Clearly weigh costs and benefits to make appropriate tradeoffs when making decisions


The Team

·         Our leadership team has solid technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Therefore, the Director of Pricing, BQI, and Corporate Actions must thoroughly understand the operational needs of WI products. You will advocate for and assist the team in cross-enterprise projects, both inside and outside the organization. Given the considerable financial and reputational risks, it is crucial to perform proactive risk assessment and address business challenges promptly.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
