The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
The Director Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing role will have responsibilities for leading and executing global supplier selection, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management decisions within the Machining, Raw Material, and Castings and Forgings commodities.
This individual will be responsible for working cross functionally across all internal business units and functional teams such as engineering, quality, manufacturing, and operations. Leader will be accountable for delivering strategic solutions to complex and challenging supply chain business needs.
This leader will have accountability for fostering, promoting, and creating a diverse and inclusive environment where all employees have a sense of belonging and empowerment. Leader will be responsible for building a strong team dynamic and providing leadership support/influence to indirect staff and executive leaders.
Additional responsibilities include delivering performance against annual AOP targets for cost savings, driving supplier risk mitigation initiatives, and managing the supply base to deliver a strong performing partnership.
This individual can work remotely with travel to suppliers and internal stakeholder, or manufacturing locations as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and drive the development of RTX embedded spend and Supply assurance programs across all divisions of RTX.

Deploying the use of multi-tier sourcing strategies to secure material to support RTX end use requirements

Works to align processes and procedures in the execution of the RTX supply assurance strategies

Develops and manages a supply base that delivers on time and provides strong performance to both customers and internal manufacturing facilities

Supports business units in the attainment of systemic cost reduction activities and security of supply strategies

Leads RTX wide negotiations with key suppliers- responsibilities range from supplier identification, supplier manufacturing and capability search, process validation, RFQ process, business award, and contract signature

Ability to focus on developing a competitive Total Cost of Ownership across all suppliers including the adoption of the RTX strategies amongst the impacted commodities and supply base

Responsible for overall supplier relationship activities and internal business partner stakeholder negotiations

Establishes and executes global sourcing and supplier activities across RTX while driving continuous improvement within the supply base.

Establishes and executes risk mitigation strategies to ensure ongoing business continuity and reduce potential business disruptions caused by financial instability and capacity constraints

Leverage and negotiate commercial relationships to ensure supply base meets performance deliverables to both internal manufacturing facilities and external customers

Build effective and collaborative internal stakeholder with all business units. Leverage relationships to drive consensus decision making for complex and challenging supply chain challenges

Ensure supplier and/or commodity is performing to the safety, delivery, cost, and quality requirements to enable business success

Must be willing and able to travel 40% of the time

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 14 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience.

Experience with commodity management in a large organization

Demonstrated experience leading teams both indirectly and directly

Knowledge of aerospace and defense supply

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization

Ability to engage with Senior Executives and deliver clear and concise presentations and messaging

Experience with identifying and developing new supplier business partners

Experience in leading complex external contract negotiations with metallics suppliers

Experience with developing and executing transformational commodity strategies

Experience with building and leveraging complex strategic internal relationships

Experience in technical and commercial negotiations with metallics suppliers

Minimum Program Qualifications

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
