Job Description - Director - Construction

POSITION SUMMARY:


 


This position will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting progress of the OSP build plan across the West Region. This position will also be responsible for managing the quarterly pass forecast process across the West Region, including but not limited to, establishing timelines for completing, setting up meetings to review market level schedules for accuracy and reasonableness, and submitting the completed forecasts to Corporate. This position provides full support for the region VP’s and SDR’s as well as staff support for the region’s pole, permitting and cable placing and splicing activities.  This role requires a strong working knowledge of the company’s reporting and tracking systems and the ability to build effective partnerships across departments to support the team as challenges and priorities arise. The position is responsible for monitoring, managing, developing, and maintaining reports that track regional performance and drive visibility for leadership. In addition, this role serves as a chief-of-staff–type function for the region, including setting agendas for weekly leadership meetings, coordinating quarterly staff meetings, and managing all staff meetings to ensure alignment with approved agendas and key objectives.


 


 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Maintain weekly forecast meeting/tracker for all markets, including providing weekly updates and analysis to identify areas of risk and strategies to mitigate.

  • Coordinate scheduling for weekly and quarterly meetings, including any travel arrangements required to support meeting objectives.

  • Compile, develop, and review weekly production reports, providing analysis on areas of risk and partnering with SVP and VP leadership to drive performance improvements.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of IT systems used to track performance across active markets, serving as a coordination point for field leaders to resolve issues and identify system updates needed to support field operations.

  • Manage the quarterly pass forecast process across the West Region, including but not limited to, establishing timelines for completing, setting up meetings to review market level schedules for accuracy and reasonableness, and submitting the completed forecasts to Corporate.

  • Serve as the West Region subject matter expert and trainer for CMS, PVT, EVT, and any future technology platforms implemented to support regional operations.

  • Coordinate and support staff efforts managing permits, pole applications and closeouts, cable placing and splicing work.

  • Assume leadership role within the West Region.

  • Manage and continuously enhance training for PCMs across the region, establishing and delivering training sessions in markets or other appropriate settings to ensure the most effective and efficient use of training resources.

  • Maintain day-to-day communication with West Region senior leaders.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.

  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role and those of direct reports.

  • Adhere to company policies, regulations, procedures, and principles.

  • Travel as needed to staff, departmental, and company meetings throughout the year, preparing and delivering relevant speaking topics as requested or assigned by leadership.

  • All other duties as assigned.


 


JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:



  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

  • Bachelor of Science preferred, but would consider experience in lieu of.

  • Minimum 5 Years of project management experience (specific industry or project experience)

  • May require after-hours and weekend work.

  • Valid driver's license or willingness to travel across state lines required.

  • Occasional travel required.
