About the Role
The Company is seeking a Director of Data Engineering to lead a dynamic team that designs, develops, and operates big data services and tools on a global scale. The successful candidate will be responsible for hiring, developing, and leading a team of data engineers and architects, as well as for the development, integration, and implementation of core data engineering, business intelligence, and data warehouse frameworks. This role requires a seasoned leader with a strong technical background, capable of providing thought leadership to ensure that the team's output aligns with the company's strategy and growth. The Director will also be instrumental in championing security and governance, managing data infrastructure costs, and introducing best practices to enable consistent delivery.Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with an advanced degree being a plus. A minimum of 10 years of experience in data engineering or related fields, including at least 5 years of managing a high-performing data engineering team, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and scaling secure data platforms, expertise in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with large-volume data processing and distributed systems. Proficiency in cloud-based and SaaS data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and experience with BI, analytics, and real-time applications is essential. Additionally, experience in video streaming and monetization platforms is highly desired. The role demands a leader who thrives on empowering team members and is adept at building partnerships across diverse functional backgrounds.
