ABOUT THE ROLE
The

Director

of Operations

will manage and oversee all of the scheduling and metadata components, including managing the operating staff, that will be responsible for receiving, conforming, monitoring, and routing out all feeds. This position will work closely with all included partners on ensuring all feeds and deliverables are met. This is a leadership role within the digital and linear operations teams, which is responsible for delivering a high quality and accurate viewer experience to millions of viewers across the digital viewing apps.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Scheduling
Manages a team to ensure all required content is received and scheduled properly and efficiently.
Responsible for communicating and working with the partners on any/all issues or concerns associated with the many feeds that will be required.
Creates process and procedures to drive reliable and repeatable operations
Participates in strategic planning meetings
Collaboration & Partnerships
Supports Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery teams
Partners with the Engineering Operations team to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Critical member of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) development team
Will work closely with the Broadcast team on developing tools to better suit the partners needs
Performance Improvement
Promotes the use of real-time analytics to make key operational decisions
Tracks operations dashboards and constantly looks for ways to make things works better, faster, and smoother
People Management & Development
Inspires a positive work culture of continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies

Builds and motivates high performing teams to deliver high quality products

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Experience directly managing employees
Extensive experience with media operations and technical transmission systems
Technical knowledge of Media Supply Chain, Live Production, and Over the Top (OTT) Systems
Work well in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions
Ability to translate and communicate business requirements into operational and technical requirements
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
A bachelor’s degree in related field
Knowledge of emerging technologies such as 4K High Dynamic Range, and HDR10+
Knowledge of industry standards such asAdvanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) and Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE)
SCHEDULE/SHIFT
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including overnights, weekends, holidays, etc.
