Job Description - Director, Early Commercial (Secondment - 6 Months)

WHY PATIENTS NEED YOU

By preventing disease before it begins, Vaccines is uniquely positioned within Pfizer to deliver patient impact in a way few other areas of the company can. This purpose is foundational to our work and core to what motivates the Vaccines organization every day.

This six‑month secondment presents a high‑impact opportunity to influence U.S. and Global strategy across the viral vaccines portfolio. This role serves as the commercial representative for vaccines and plays a critical part in shaping the future of Pfizer’s business.

As 2026 marks a key strategic inflection point for Pfizer Vaccines and this role will focus on driving commercial value at critical decision points by shaping target product profiles, developing commercial and competitive insights, evaluating potential business development opportunities, supporting launch readiness planning, and building data‑driven business cases for senior leadership.

WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE

This is a highly visible, collaborative position that partners closely with inline (US/Global) Marketing, Medical Affairs, Research, Development, Pricing & Access, and a broad set of cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure pipeline value and execution.

HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT

Asset Development

  • Identify value drivers and relevant target populations for viral vaccine assets (primarily Influenza) based on an understanding of the epidemiology / burden of disease, health economics, patient flows, current standards of care, etc.

  • Develop target product profile in collaboration with GCS Flu Lead and Research and other partners; provide input into clinical development and regulatory plans. Acting as primary commercial voice in program team discussions: reviewing clinical development plans, risk assessments and program team milestones.

  • Develop early forecast scenarios and provide initial asset value for the internal portfolio prioritization process.

Business Case Evaluation

  • Drive commercial business case for prioritization either through the traditional DP1 – DP3 process.

  • Drive the 2H 2026 flu forecast update process in partnership with GCS Flu Lead, Finance, Commercial Analytics, and Global teams. Consolidate and reconcile inputs across market share, demand signals, pricing, and global strategy to develop a robust bottom-up forecast for the remainder of the 2026–27 flu season.

  • Support long-range planning and Operating Plan inputs as relevant, ensuring flu forecast assumptions are aligned with broader Vaccines portfolio planning.

  • Support Business Development commercial assessments, if relevant, during the due-diligence process by building a commercial perspective on target assets (e.g., market potential, possible peak sales and ramp up in various scenarios).

Flu Landscape & Insight Generation

  • Lead the collection, synthesis, and activation of HCP, patient, and market insights to inform pipeline strategy and execution for the flu program.

  • Leverage primary and secondary research, digital behavioral data, and external data sources (CDC, IQVIA, payer analytics) to build a comprehensive understanding of market dynamics.

  • Partner with Market Research, Medical Affairs, and Analytics teams to identify and surface unmet informational needs among HCPs/Consumers — including barriers to recommendation, dose selection decision drivers, and vaccine conversation dynamics within the respiratory portfolio — and translate these into clear insights for leadership.

  • Partner with CI team to maintain a structured tracker and cadence of competitive intelligence briefings for the Commercial Development team and senior stakeholders; focusing on next Gen influenza technology and market evolution.

General Support

  • Manage commercial budget for assigned asset(s)

  • Support the annual strategic and operating plan process
