**Overview**

The **Director, eDrive & Power Electronics** is responsible for leading the electrical drive system and EV power electronics design and development activities, including requirement specification, circuit, layout, run-time software, mechanical packaging, structure for loads and durability, thermal, electro-magnetic interference (EMI), electrical loads and durability, and thermal and industry regulation and compliance. This role provides leadership for new product development from conceptualization through component design, qualification, and delivery. This role is also responsible for design-for-manufacturing and assembly (DFM/DFA) for the in-house made parts.
**Responsibilities**
* Provide leadership in the electrical drive system and EV power electronics components (including motor, invertor, gearbox, converter and charging system, etc.) planning and technology development to support corporate product and technology strategy.
* Lead electrical drive system and EV power electronics team to complete vehicle program deliverables on target, on time, and with quality.
* Responsible for eDrive and power electronics competitive benchmarking and technology roadmap development.
* Responsible for meeting requirements of packaging, mechanical, electrical, thermal, environmental, and EMI/EMC performance for vehicle control electronics, including body, infotainment, and power electronics.
* Utilize state-of-the-art modeling and simulation CAE tools to support design work and critical engineering decisions.
* Direct all activities for eDrive and power electronics development team supporting component design requirements, critical program deliverables, alignment to overall vehicle development schedule, and budget planning and scheduling.
* Lead the detailed design, analysis, development, and validation of all eDrive and power electronics components, and effectively support subsystem and vehicle-level integration to ensure high-quality performance.
* Lead all Engineering Design and Release activities, including technical design analysis, trade off studies, GD&T, FMEA, Engineering signoff, and design release activities.
* Effectively manage all design changes and meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
* Interface with organizations across the enterprise, including planning, manufacturing, and test engineering, to ensure the delivery of products.
* Lead investigation into internal, assembly, and customer quality issues for timely, high-priority resolution. Support robust problem-solving methodology (8D, Red-X, etc.) to define root cause and develop issue resolution path.
* Manage and support productions with manufacturing partners and suppliers.
* Support development of program-specific component specifications that ensure compliance to vehicle and subsystem requirements.
* Serve as company-wide subject-matter expert (SME) for electronics design and development.
* Create reports which address critical vehicle operation issues, engage cross-functional engineering support as required.
* Utilize issue tracking tool (JIRA) to log software defects and manage day-to-day issue resolution plans.
* Support, organize, and lead customer/supplier meetings. Travel is required, including international.
* Support opportunities for process improvements, tool development, and knowledge capture and retention.
* Other duties, as assigned.

**Requirements**
* MS degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
* 10+ years experience and in-depth knowledge of high voltage power electrical systems and technologies in Electric Vehicles or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).
* 10+ years experience and expertise with full product life cycle. Knowledge of the definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, coordination and execution of hardware and software designs, development and integration, manufacturing, and quality control.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* General understanding of automotive industry standards such as ASTM, SAE, ISO.
* Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems in Electric Vehicles or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV).
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Sense of urgency and strong attention to detail.
* Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.
