What You Will Do

As our Director of Data Operations, you'll be at the forefront of defining and executing Trimble's data strategy. You'll work closely with our architecture, engineering, privacy, security, and data governance teams, forging strong partnerships that ensure the feasibility and viability of our data initiatives. Your visionary leadership will drive the technical strategy for how we acquire, store, process, and deliver data, all while championing reliability and efficiency.

You'll lead a team of talented data engineers, fostering a culture where innovation and excellence thrive. Your role is about providing strategic direction and building a collaborative environment, trusting your team to deliver on the hands-on implementation. A critical partnership will be with our Director of Data Governance & Management, AECO, ensuring our data operations and technical frameworks seamlessly align with business objectives, data quality standards, and governance policies.

• Develop and implement cutting-edge strategies for data acquisition, integration, and management.
• Champion a data product culture and enhance data literacy across the organization.
• Contribute to policies that create essential guardrails for Trimble's data products.
• Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of Trimble's valuable data assets.
• Architect, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data infrastructure and pipelines.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

• Proven Engineering Leadership: Extensive experience in a data operations, data engineering, or similar leadership role.
• Data Architecture Expertise: Deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks).
• Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and inspire high-performing technical teams.
• Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to partner effectively across diverse technical and business teams.
• Data Ecosystem Knowledge: Excellent grasp of data warehousing, data lakes, and modern data stack technologies.

This role is based in our Westminster, CO headquarters, requiring onsite work to foster close collaboration and team synergy.
