Job Summary and Qualifications
The Director, Enterprise Succession supports HCA’s talent strategy by executing an enterprise succession planning process which includes: ongoing review and identification of key roles, identification of pipeline talent to fill critical roles, leveraging HCA talent processes to identify/validate top talent and readiness for advancement, manage stakeholder engagement and communication, leverage HCA systems for formal documentation of finalized plans, and coordination of development planning with partner departments within HCA, i.e. L&OD, HRG. Complementary duties may include supporting AVP Talent & Org Effectiveness in Executive Succession planning, DE&I strategy in succession and others as developed/assigned.

What you will do in this role:
Provide direction and guidance on succession planning methods, processes, and framework.
Serve as Subject Matter Expert and advisor on use of succession technology platform (MyPath) to HR business partners and L&OD team. Develop and manage an annual Calendar and Communications Plan for Succession Planning cycle
Manage key elements of annual succession planning cycle; i.e. key role identification, impact of organizational changes on succession strategy, current and future talent landscape analysis, external market trends/benchmarking and prepare executive summary for senior leadership consideration in forward talent strategy.
Consult with facility and division leaders on best practice for succession planning for key Director level roles.
Partner with Talent Management Training Manager to develop and maintain resources for leaders, managers and HRBPs such as tutorials, online videos, Quick Reference Guides, etc. to ensure users have knowledge to utilize succession module in TMS efficiently and accurately.
Determine and develop meaningful reporting cadence for progress and updates to HRLT and Group level business leaders on health of enterprise succession pools and any action needed.
Prepare documents for and facilitation of succession discussion at Division, Group level and as required across the enterprise.
Prepare documents for and facilitation of Group-level Alignment succession discussions following annual Talent review to confirm final enterprise C-Suite talent pools (Group Presidents, CFO’s, CNE’s, CMO’s, LOBs)
Onboarding new L&OD Directors, RVP’s HR and key HR business partners in succession planning process, tools, resources, and responsibilities.
Support AVP Talent & Organizational Effectiveness in ongoing maintenance and development of Executive Succession Plan
Successfully manage strategic partnerships to ensure leaders at local level have information, resources, training and access required to conduct ongoing succession for key roles at the local facility and unit level.
Assessing and reviewing efficacy of the succession planning process to ensure our succession practices advance/evolve to meet the changing requirements of HCA Healthcare; identify metrics to assess effectiveness on annual basis to indicate YOY trends.
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelors Degree
Masters Degree Preferred
7+ years of experience in generalist HR leadership role, talent management or OD Required
Certification in OD or Executive Coaching Preferred
Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI or similar data platforms Required
