Eaton is seeking a Director, Export Compliance- Global Trade Management Americas. The preferred location for this role is in Beachwood, Ohio at Eaton\u0027s US HQ. Will also consider the option to be remote with travel as needed.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nWe are seeking an exceptional strategist and communicator to support global trade compliance to ensure Eaton\u2019s trade operations are standardized, compliant, and strategically aligned. The Director, Export Compliance - Global Trade Management Americas will oversee export and sanctions compliance and risk management within Eaton\u0027s Americas region, while working closely with the entire Global Trade Management team. The person in this role will bring immediate value by supporting Eaton\u0027s licensing and trade compliance due-diligence and coordinating changes to US and other applicable jurisdictions export and sanctions law and regulations. The position requires deep expertise in international trade regulations, enabling operational excellence in trade flows for a diverse global enterprise. \n \nJob Responsibilities\n\nAs Director, Export Compliance - Global Trade Management Americas, you will play a critical role in protecting and advancing Eaton\u0027s interests and goals, which include helping to solve the world\u2019s most urgent power management challenges and building a more sustainable society for people today and generations to come. \n \n\n\nStrategic Leadership \u0026 Governance\n\n * Develop and execute regional trade compliance strategies aligned with global objectives.\n * Serve as the primary point of contact for export and sanctions compliance in the Americas.\n * Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on trade regulations and risk mitigation strategies; work closely with product managers, sales, operations, engineering and R\u0026D.\n * Lead and mentor teams responsible for export compliance across the region. \n \n\n\n\n\nTrade Compliance \u0026 Operations\n\n * Ensure compliance with U.S., Canadian, Mexican, and other regional export controls and sanctions. Examine potential trade-compliance risks and provide effective solutions including developing clear policies and procedures and supporting improvement of business processes and trade compliance controls.\n * Support export classification determinations.\n * Monitor export control laws and sanctions.\n * Support strong processes for licensing and due diligence.\n\n\n\nRisk Management, Audit \u0026 Training\n\n * Develop regional risk assessment programs for trade compliance.\n * Lead internal audits, identify potential violations, and oversee remediation efforts.\n * Deliver training programs on trade compliance for internal stakeholders.\n * Maintain documentation to support regulatory audits and inquiries.\n\n\n\nTechnology \u0026 Process Optimization\n\n * Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party compliance providers.\n * High emotional intelligence, exceptional courage, excellent presentation skills, and enthusiasm for driving lessons learned across the enterprise will be key to your success. \n \n\n\n\n\nOur Law team is committed to continuous learning, exploring process and policy improvements, and collaborating across the organization.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nEducation level required: \n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in business, law, or related field from an accredited university or institution; JD or advanced degree preferred.\n\n\n\nOther area of experience and requirements: \n\n * Minimum of 8 years of experience in export compliance, including both EAR and ITAR experience, within a multinational manufacturing or industrial company.\n * Direct or indirect management experience working across global partnerships.\n * Must be a US Citizen or authorized Green Card holder in the US.\n\n\n\nTechnical knowledge: \n\n * Deep knowledge of export regulations in the Americas.\n * Expertise with ERP systems and export licensing.\n * Proven ability to lead audits, risk assessments, and regulatory disclosures. \n \n\n\n\n\nDemonstrated ability in the following areas:\n\n * Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.\n * Strategic thinking, writing, and presenting.\n * Proactive issue spotting and problem solving.\n * Attention to detail, follow through, and execution.\n * Managing competing priorities and limited resources effectively and efficiently to drive results.\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\nSoft skills:\n\nIn addition to advanced technical ability, the successful candidate will lead with courage, emotional intelligence, and accountability.
