This role supports the FSL business and is responsible for the management, oversight, maintenance, and ongoing servicing of warehouse and other credit facilities secured by collateral including mortgages, hard assets, and equity pledges.

The FSL Operations team partners closely with external clients and a broad range of internal stakeholders, including Business Unit deal teams, Asset Management, Financial Controllers, Credit, Legal, and Technology, to support transaction execution, post‑closing servicing, and lifecycle management of complex lending structures.

Within the Operations Division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, implement effective controls, manage operational risk, and develop strong client relationships. This is a Team Specialist position at Director level within Product Support & Services, responsible for transaction support, post‑execution processes, and direct people leadership.

Interested in joining a team that’s eager to create, innovate and make an impact on the world? Read on…

What you'll do in the role:

Operational Execution & Oversight

  • Oversee the review of credit agreements, closing documentation, and amendments to accurately build and maintain loan facilities within internal booking and servicing systems.
  • Direct and supervise daily loan servicing activities, including borrowing and funding requests, settlements, paydowns, and lifecycle event processing.
  • Manage collateral oversight and control, including review of daily custodial reports, monitoring exceptions, and coordinating with external document custodians.
  • Execute and oversee collateral releases and document shipments to investors purchasing loans off warehouse facilities.
  • Lead borrowing base management, including monitoring advance rates, eligibility, expiration dates, deficiencies, and covenant compliance.
  • Coordinate with Credit and Business Unit partners on temporary exceptions, approvals, and remediation actions.
  • Oversee the daily review and resolution of exception, break, and reconciliation reports, ensuring timely escalation and root‑cause analysis.
  • Ensure accurate preparation, review, and distribution of interest and fee invoices.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for client inquiries, complex servicing issues, and ad‑hoc requests.

Supervisory & People Leadership Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervisory leadership to associates, analysts, and/or support staff, including work allocation, prioritization, and quality control.
  • Set clear performance expectations, objectives, and accountability standards aligned with business and control requirements.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching sessions, delivering timely feedback and development guidance.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and succession planning in partnership with senior leadership and HR.
  • Identify skill gaps and oversee cross‑training initiatives to ensure operational resilience and coverage.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a culture carrier across Operations, modeling Morgan Stanley’s values and professional standards.

Governance, Risk & Control

  • Maintain ownership of operational risk management, control execution, and audit readiness for the FSL Operations function.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies, regulatory requirements, and internal control frameworks.
  • Review and approve required management reporting, attestations, and governance materials.
  • Serve as an escalation point for risk events, control failures, or client impact, coordinating remediation and preventative actions.

Stakeholder & Strategic Engagement

  • Partner closely with Business Units, Credit, Legal, Technology, and Controllers to support business growth while managing risk.
  • Translate senior leadership objectives into actionable execution plans for the team.
  • Represent FSL Operations in working groups, forums, and transformation initiatives.
  • Proactively identify process improvement and automation opportunities to enhance scalability and efficiency.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, challenge constructively, and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of secured lending operations, operational controls, and compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to operate independently across complex, fast‑paced environments.
  • Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory or people‑management capacity within financial services operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, client‑facing, and leadership skills.
  • Highly motivated self‑starter with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in warehouse lending, collateralized facilities, residential or consumer lending.
  • Knowledge of the secondary mortgage market, including GSEs such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
  • Experience with Loan IQ strongly preferred.
