Overview
Odyssey Preschool and Montessori was founded in 2009 and is a well established school in beautiful Foster city, San Mateo County which is also in the peninsula bay area. We are looking for a Montessori trained director for our preschool starting from the coming academic year, when our current director retires. The ideal candidate would be someone who is passionate about working with children and has good people management skills. In addition to the benefits mentioned above we offer a discretionary match and profit share as well.
The school accepts children from 18months-6 years of age. The school has toddler and Preschool license's for a total of 142 children.
The candidate must be experienced running a large licensed Montessori school and must be knowledgeable about the latest licensing regulations.
The center director will be responsible for the overall administration and operational management of the center and ensure compliance with regulations. Some job responsibilities include (but not limited to) the following:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the center.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment .
- Ensure a safe and secure environment at the center and implementing emergency procedures as needed.
- Deliver high quality program.
- Foster positive relationships with parents, encouraging open communication.
- Manage the enrollment process, including tours, admissions, registrations, and maintaining accurate records.
- Create a culture of being a safe and loving school not only for children but for teachers and staff as well.
Key Requirements:
Candidate should have Montessori certification, with atleast 4 years as a Director/Assistant dIrector at a Montessori preschool, preferably with a 75+ capacity.
Proven experience collaborating with and mentoring teachers. Good organization and time management skills.
Working knowledge of childcare management software, computer skills (MS office, google apps). Working knowledge of social media posting and blogs a plus.
Pass background check and proof of immunization and health criteria.
Knowledge of CA state and educational licensing requirements.
Additional responsibilities based on regulatory or enrollment changes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
