About the role: 

As the Director of Financial Planning and Accounting you will assist to oversee the financial planning, analysis, and accounting functions of the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of financial and accounting principles, strategic planning, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting and financial controls. The Director of Financial Planning and Accounting will work closely with the CFO and other senior leaders to develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's overall business objectives. This role would be required to relocate or reside in Reno, Nevada area. 

Responsibilities:

• Financial Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. 

• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and make informed business decisions. 

• Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings. 

• Cost Control: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability. 

• Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. 

• Strategic Financial Planning: Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and support business development initiatives. 

• Team Management: Build and scale a team of finance professionals, including financial analysts, accountants, and budget analysts. 

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field 

• MBA or advanced degree preferred 

• CPA or CFA certification preferred 

• 10+ years of experience in a senior finance role 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Proven track record of financial leadership and success 

• Deep understanding of financial principles, strategic planning, and risk management 

• Start up experience 

• ERP implementation experience 

• Large capital expenditure project experience 

• Power/Energy/Utility industry experience 

• Corporate and Project level financial modeling

Estimated Starting Salary Range: 

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $176,000 - $204,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis.  The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
