Job Description:

GEO is a new discipline, and most clients are still working out what it means for them. This role puts you at the front of that conversation. As OMD's GEO lead across a portfolio of clients, you'll define where GEO creates value, bring account teams and clients along, and turn early conversations into real engagements. It's a chance to operate like a practice lead, with meaningful influence over the direction of the work, at a focused Director-level scale.

Please note: GEO is not currently in scope for these clients, and any program would need incremental funding. The first job is to educate, explore, and build the pipeline. If you want to build something rather than inherit it, this is that role.

Responsibilities 

Be the GEO expert for the portfolio

• Learn each client's business, industry, and goals, and define the role GEO can play in supporting them.
• Stay current on generative AI-powered search, including key players, vendors, tools, and technology, and share what you learn with the team.

Educate and enable account teams

• Explain GEO capabilities, use cases, and potential value to account teams.
• Help teams spot opportunities and shape GEO ideas for client conversations.
• Join client conversations as needed to explain GEO and explore needs.

Shape recommendations and grow the work

• Run ad hoc analyses to assess SEO/GEO performance or potential, and turn the results into clear recommendations.
• Present strategies to clients and internal stakeholders, from analysts to C-level executives.
• Work with account teams, leadership, and Finance to build scopes and staffing plans.
• Support new business efforts, including pitches and case studies, as needed.
• Partner with teams on test-and-learn programs and refine GEO approaches as the field evolves.

Build toward a team

This is an individual contributor role to start. As GEO engagements are sold in, you'll have the opportunity to build a team under you. 

Required Skills and Experience

• Substantial digital marketing experience with an emphasis on SEO and GEO.
• Experience leading SEO/GEO engagements for enterprise clients, ideally Fortune 500, across a portfolio.
• A track record of moving client partnerships forward, delivering results, and creating new business opportunities.
• A strong understanding of the changing search industry, including key players, vendors, and technology.
• Skill at translating detailed search topics into clear takeaways for any audience, in writing, in conversation, and in well-built PowerPoint decks.
• Independence in solving problems, comfort working across teams, and the organization to juggle several projects at once. 

Desired Skills and Experience 

• Experience with LLM visibility monitoring tools and partners, such as Bluefish or Profound.
• Previous agency experience.

Travel 

Travel as needed, approximately once per quarter.
