Job Description - Director, Global Applications

Job Summary


The Director, Global Applications leads the global CAE and FAE organizations with clear accountability for technical execution that converts to revenue. This role drives design-win strategy, prioritizes resources against the highest-value opportunities, and builds the operating discipline, technical standards, and scalable assets needed to improve win quality and accelerate customer adoption.


 


As the senior leader bridging Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering, this person ensures the applications organization balances commercial urgency with technical rigor while delivering consistent global execution. Success is defined by stronger design-win conversion, scalable technical leverage, and meaningful business impact.


 


Roles & Responsibilities


This position has responsibility for:



  • Owning global applications strategy and technical conversion to revenue, ensuring technical engagement, design-win focus, and execution priorities translate into measurable business results.

  • Leading and scaling the global Central Applications and Field Applications teams, building organizational capability, bench strength, and a high-performance culture across regions.

  • Establishing and enforcing the global applications operating model, including engagement standards, governance, escalation paths, and consistent execution discipline.

  • Setting strategic priorities for applications resources, aligning support coverage and technical investment to the highest-value opportunities and critical customer needs

  • Driving operational excellence through metrics and accountability, using performance data to improve focus, execution quality, customer impact, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Building scalable technical leverage, ensuring Central Applications delivers reusable assets, technical collateral, and infrastructure that reduce reactive support and accelerate customer adoption.

  • Leading technical readiness for new product introductions, partnering cross-functionally to ensure successful launch execution, field enablement, and revenue acceleration.

  • Serving as the senior cross-functional and customer-facing technical leader, guiding strategic escalations, aligning Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering, and translating market insight into product and go-to-market action.


 


Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)



  • 12+ years of applications engineering, systems engineering, or related semiconductor technical leadership experience.

  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, including management of global technical teams.

  • Strong technical background in RF, analog, mixed-signal, power, ASIC, or related semiconductor technologies.

  • Demonstrated success driving design wins, customer adoption, and technical engagement that converts to revenue.

  • Proven ability to lead across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering in a global environment.

  • Strong operational discipline, including experience establishing processes, metrics, and scalable support models.

  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and decision-making skills.

  • Experience leading both centralized applications teams and distributed FAE organizations.

  • Ability to travel globally up to 25–40%.


Education Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred..
