Job Description - Director, Global Medical Affairs, External Engagements
Global KOL Engagement Strategy: Develop and execute the overarching global KOL engagement strategy and framework to support global evidence generation initiatives, advisory boards, and medical input on strategic priorities. Identify, prioritize, and cultivate relationships with global KOLs, aligning global engagement plan with therapeutic area objectives. Employ novel engagement tactics and platforms aligned with organizational goals Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure insights from KOLs are integrated into evidence generation, publications, and global medical strategies. Partner with Executive leadership, clinical development, market access, and regional medical affairs teams to ensure alignment on external engagement priorities. Liase with and commercial leaders to ensure awareness of medical engagements. Act as the central point of contact for global external engagement initiatives, ensuring consistency and avoiding duplication of efforts. Ensure all external engagement activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Establish best practices and tools for global external engagement, providing training and support as needed to regional and local medical teams. Advanced degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) preferred 7+ years of experience in medical affairs, with a focus on external engagement or strategic KOL management. Demonstrated success in leading global medical strategies and engaging with global KOLs, professional societies, and healthcare organizations. Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and evidence generation process. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across global teams. Deep understanding of compliance requirements and regulatory considerations for external engagement activities. Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement global initiatives. Expertise in scientific exchange and the ability to align scientific strategies with business goals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain high-quality relationships with external and internal stakeholders. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on excellence in execution.
