Job Description - Director, Government Affairs

As Director of Government Affairs, you will be a strategic leader and critical contributor to our company. You will counsel the Vice President, Government & Public Affairs, as well as our Senior Leadership team to define how the company analyzes, understands, navigates, and crafts the policy & legislative systems in the United States!

You will advocate for Micron externally with the legislative community, executive branch, third party groups and partners' regulatory community and the policy community in partnership with the business units, as well as colleagues to bring a coordinated picture to our advocacy efforts in the U.S.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the areas of politics, process, tactics, and team management as well as preferred experience in technology, industrial policy and manufacturing, trade, foreign relations, and issues facing global companies!

Role and Responsibilities:
Develop a dynamic understanding of Micron's current and future potential issues and assess key legislative, policy and regulatory risks and opportunities.
Partner to develop and implement strategies for engaging government officials, opinion leaders and regulators USA.
Engage proactively and reactively with government partners and regulators at the federal level regarding Micron's products, issues, and priorities to ensure that we are able to operate efficiently and fairly.
Maintain proficiency on a wide variety of regulatory and policy issues including trade, semiconductor manufacturing, tax, immigration, DEI, sustainability, technology and data, foreign affairs, and innovation.

Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, Higher education desired
10 or more years of experience working with the U.S. government, preferably with either the Legislative or Executive branches, think tanks, public interest groups, advocacy groups, industry groups, or corporations in Washington, D.C.
Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and influence both internal and external collaborators.
Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and quickly learn/adapt to emerging issues.
Communicate efficiently with government officials, internal colleagues, peers and partners, business partners, and industry associations.
Excellent attention to detail, personal, political, analytical skills.
