About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to lead and oversee the management, strategic planning, and compliance of health information systems within our organization. This is a senior-level leadership position responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and security of health data, in alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for HIM operations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and healthcare standards.
• Lead and mentor the HIM team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and other health information privacy laws.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of health information systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT teams to optimize workflows and information exchange.
• Develop and manage the departments budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
• Conduct audits and assessments to maintain compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance HIM practices and systems.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
• Certification: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in health information management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of HIM standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in health information systems and electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
