Job Description - Director, International Planning- Subsidiaries & Distributors

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of International Planning that is responsible for managing large amounts of data to develop and execute planning strategies that support growth, optimize sales/inventory productivity, and ensure alignment with Skecher’s global brand objectives. The Director will work closely with our merchandising teams and cross-functional stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, streamline planning processes, and support international expansion.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of planners and analysts managing large amounts of data, collaborating with IT to develop efficient and effective analytical tools and reports for planners/merchandisers to determine growth opportunities that align with corporate goals.

  • Manage large scale data processing and strategic analysis to improve forecast accuracy, process efficiency and growth opportunities identification through continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with merchandising team and partners to identify sales and inventory optimization while offering guidance and support for growth strategies spanning subsidiaries and distributor retail and wholesale accounts.

  • Develop and communicate forecasting, SKU management, inventory planning and assortment strategies across multiple channels and markets.

Forecasting & Analysis

  • Oversee development of detailed recaps at the country, gender, division, outsole, style, sku level for footwear.

  • Build, maintain, and manage forecasting processes with partners for Retail, Ecommerce and Top Wholesale Accounts across multiple countries.

  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and consumer insights for forecasting needs.

  • Drive alignment with global key pillar brand targets to support Skecher’s long -term growth strategy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with merchandising and partners to analyze and develop forecast strategies.

  • Partner with IT and Data Engineering to implement strategy models, optimize reporting workflows that create and optimize dashboards that streamline planning and merchandising operations.

  • Lead monthly and quarterly reviews with merchandising and planning team to highlight risks, opportunities, and recommendations for retail and wholesale accounts.

Process & Systems Management

  • Standardize reporting tools and establish the best global practices for international planning business insights

  • Champion implementation with data engineering to optimize analytic tools, oversee automation and reporting initiatives, ensure reliability of interim data solutions

  • Establish and monitor accurate metrics, identifying root causes of variance, and implement corrective actions for recaps and forecasts

  • Ensure data integrity for weekly and or monthly recaps for retail and top wholesale accounts.

Additional Job Responsibilities

  • Support Global Product Conferences held twice annually, with flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to ensure successful execution.

  • Based on International time zones, periodic morning/evening calls based on business needs.

  • May require occasional international travel (2 times per year) based on business needs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for all organizational levels

  • High adaptability to managing changing priorities and fast-paced retail environment

  • Expert level in excel, powerpoint and power pivot skills.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, Smartview, Incorta)

  • Deep understanding of Retail merchandising tools

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International/Retail or related field preferred

  • 15+ years of experience in strategic planning, business development, international retail.

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in managing teams

  • 5+ years of experience in retail, or footwear industry

  • International or multi market planning experience

  • Strong understanding of statistical forecasting methods and predictive analytics

  • Deep understanding of retail math concepts, inventory management principles w/large amt of data.

The pay range for this role is $160,000-$180,000/yr USD.
