We are seeking aDirector, Investment ManagementStrategy to work with the team to drive change in what we do, in the way we operate, and in how we contribute to the firm’s growth strategy.They will report to the Chief Investment Officer.

The Investment Management team is responsible for managing investments for more than 1.3 million clients and $270 billion in assets at Edelman Financial Engines. As part of this, the team designs our investment processes, analyses investment instruments, communicates about markets to planners and our clients, among other tasks.

The Director, Investment Management Strategy will collaborate with the IM management team, our partners in departments such as corporate strategy, operations, and planner management in order to:

Be part of the company’s strategic framework to link our work to the firm’s goals, which involves understanding the drivers of our business.
Partner with IM product owners and managers to assess demands for potential solutions, to design tests and pilots.
The person will work directly with the CIO to:

Collaborate the group’s strategy, writing compelling business plans and updates for executives and board members, including being able to design visually compelling slides.
Run manager and department meetings, and offsites, working on agendas and content.
Partner with finance team on budget setting and tracking.

Experience in working at an RIA is essential because they will rely on their understanding of investment offerings, the competitive landscape, and the drivers of commercial success.

In IM, we prize deep understanding and so, to succeed, they must have the curiosity and ability to dig into and understand what IM does, from its operations through to the modeling of investments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Experience working in a RIA
3+ years of experience in a strategy role.
Experience planning and executing strategic initiatives.
Strong proficiency in MS PowerPoint (and all other MS Office products).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

kes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is . However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
