Job Description

The Director, Junior Girls Volleyball is responsible for the leadership, development, and management of all junior girls’ volleyball programs within Southern California. This role oversees program planning, coach recruitment, athlete development, event coordination, club engagement and community outreach. The Director serves as a key ambassador, ensuring a positive, safe, and growth-oriented environment. Cross-departmental support is expected for all positions. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. 

The position is located in Anaheim, CA.

Requirements

· Develop, implement, and evaluate the strategic initiatives for the junior girls’ volleyball program ensuring alignment with USAV mission, vision and values. 

· Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for enhancements. 

· Maintain accurate records of athlete participation and program outcomes.

· Plan and oversee clinics, camps, tryouts, leagues, tournaments and special events.

· Oversee program operations, including team formation, scheduling, registration, and communication with families and participants.

· Support and promote ongoing coach education and development opportunities.

· Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment that supports athlete growth, well-being, and skill development. 

· Ensure compliance with the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, MAPP, and USAV and USOPC athlete safety requirements. 

· Plan and manage program budgets, equipment inventory, and facility usage.

· Promote the program within the community; build relationships with clubs, schools and partner organizations to increase participation and visibility.

· Build relationships with athletes, families, schools, and community partners.

· Address parent, athlete, club, and coach inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Elevate concerns to the corporate office as necessary. 

· Communicate regularly with constituents and participants regarding program updates and opportunities.

· Track and report program metrics, participation, and outcomes; provide regular updates.

· Attend local, regional, national volleyball events and meetings. 

· Other duties and projects as assigned.

  

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, related field or equivalent work experience.

· Must have proven experience coaching or directing youth volleyball programs, with a focus on girls’ athletics.

· Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, coaching techniques, and athlete development principles.

· Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Experience managing staff, volunteers, and/or coaches.

· Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for practices, games, and events.

· Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all athletes.

· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the region as needed.

· Must successfully pass a USAV background screen (prior to hire date).

· Must complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date and deep current as a condition of continued employment. 

Salary:  $100,000 - $120,000
