This role owns the end\u2011to\u2011end lab ecosystem enabling system, silicon, firmware, and software engineering teams across multiple sites.\n\nThe Director is accountable for lab strategy, execution, scale, and compliance, while ensuring hands\u2011on technical rigor in system bring\u2011up, platform validation, and board\u2011level debug. This role leads lab operations teams and partners closely with senior engineering leadership to accelerate product readiness and silicon learning.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nStrategic Lab Leadership\n\n * Own the global lab operations strategy for Server CPU and data\u2011center SoC validation environments\n * Align lab capabilities, capacity planning, and investments with server CPU product roadmaps and post\u2011silicon milestones\n * Act as the senior lab operations interface to Silicon, System, Firmware, Software, and Program leadership\n\n\n\nPeople \u0026 Organizational Leadership\n\n * Lead, mentor, and develop lab operations managers, senior technicians, and lab staff\n * Establish operating rhythms, escalation paths, and performance expectations for lab teams\n * Build a culture of accountability, safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement\n\n\n\nPost\u2011Silicon \u0026 Platform Enablement\n\n * Ensure readiness and availability of lab environments supporting:\n\n\n * * Server CPU bring\u2011up and validation\n * Platform\u2011level electrical, functional, and system validation\n\n\n * Provide executive oversight for:\n\n\n * * System builds, deployments, and configuration (FW, BIOS, OS)\n * Advanced board\u2011level debug and rework when required\n\n\n * Partner with validation and design teams on failure analysis, power measurement, and root\u2011cause investigations\n\n\n\nLab Infrastructure \u0026 Asset Governance\n\n * Own lab infrastructure, tooling strategy, and modernization plans\n * Oversee procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of:\n\n\n * * Data\u2011center\u2011class servers and platforms\n * High\u2011value lab equipment and instrumentation\n\n\n * Establish strong asset tracking, inventory control, and cost discipline\n\n\n\nSecurity, Access \u0026 Compliance\n\n * Own lab access governance, audits, and security controls\n * Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal audits\n * Serve as executive owner for lab safety programs and readiness reviews\n\n\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nEducation\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred\n * Equivalent practical experience considered\n\n\n\nExperience\n\n * 15+ years of progressive experience in electronics labs, hardware validation, or lab operations\n * Demonstrated leadership experience managing large lab environments supporting silicon or server platforms\n * Proven experience supporting Server CPU, SoC, or data\u2011center platform development\n\n\n\nTechnical Depth\n\n * Strong understanding of:\n\n\n * * Server CPU and SoC\u2011based system architectures\n * Firmware, BIOS, and operating system bring\u2011up\n\n\n * Deep experience with:\n\n\n * * FPGA and flash programming\n * Advanced board\u2011level rework (including BGA)\n * Platform\u2011level debug (power delivery, sequencing, clocks, power measurement)\n\n\n * Hands\u2011on familiarity with modern lab equipment:\n\n\n * * Oscilloscopes\n * Logic and protocol analyzers\n\n\n * Strong background in data\u2011center server hardware strongly preferred\n\n\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
