Job Summary:

The Director of Medical Device Operations position has primary responsibility for providing leadership, management and direction to Senior Managers and Managers within the organization of the Phoenix Center of Excellence for Medical Devices. Primarily responsible for delivering on the overall budget goals, objectives and KPIs as agreed within the annual business planning process. Has overall responsibility for the delivery and execution of the site strategic plan as defined within the global Wearable Injection Devices Platform. The position leads and manages the complexity of the site to support the defined customers and programs to ensure the highest level of performance in terms of product quality and customer service. The position provides exemplary leadership, management, and direction on key performance indicators across Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost and People Management. The position calls for considerable customer interface when needed in a newly launched site and evolving product platforms with significant growth. Key to success is the ability to lead and manage within complexity and set goals and objectives that will have significant value and material impact within the Drug Delivery Device Operating Unit. The position calls for growth and stabiltiy within the site while delivering day-to-day sustainable performance and meeting short, medium- and longer-term commitments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leads, directs and controls the activities of all operations of the site in order to achieve the short, mid and long-term business goals and objectives as set out and agreed with Senior Leadership.
• Inspires and guides employees toward excellence and continuous improvement.
• Sets and monitors the performance of the site against standards and targets in manufacturing, finance and cost control, sales revenue, quality assurance, engineering and maintenance, supply chain, legal compliance, HS&E and human resource management.
• Ensure the overall safety and welfare for all employees and stakeholders within the site.
• Ensure the highest level of customer service via meeting customer program commitments, delivery performance, lead times, responsiveness, flexibility and quality assurance.
• Establishes and oversees budgets, plans, policies and programs that will effectively implement the business strategies and objectives.
• Ensures products meet the requirements of approved production plans at minimum costs within quality limits & consistent with FDA, cGMP, ISO & OSHA requirements.
• Ensures ongoing growth at the site while building credibility with key stake holders through day-to-day sustainable performance.
• Liaise with other operations leaders as well as functional heads across the Wearable Injection Devices Platform to ensure that strategies, plans and activities are integrated and aligned with the overall corporate objectives.
• Develops and maintains solid working relationships with the community, government agencies, and customers.
• Conforms with and abides by all laws, regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:

Bachelors degree in engineering, science, or business.

Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of progressive accountability with demonstrated results in leading manufacturing operations in medical devices and large-scale programs.

• Track record of performance in a Medical Devices manufacturing environment, very results and outcome focused within strict timelines.
• Demonstrated leadership ability at high level and tangible results demonstrated.
• Respected leadership that will galvanize teams to pursue transformation and high performance.
• Proven production/manufacturing operations leadership experience.
• Deep technical understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly within Medical Devices business. Deep understanding of Operational Excellence and the benefits it brings (practitioner).
• Highly analytical with proven devices manufacturing operations experience.
• Strong track record of innovation or driving transformational projects through to completion.
• Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all levels in the organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and drive change within a mature, global matrixed function.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Demonstrated ability to motivate people – mobilizing resources to work together with a shared sense of mission.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and grow talent, build organizational capabilities.
• Previous role with strong customer interaction and demonstrated ability to build strong customer partnerships.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a high-growth or transformational environment.
• Experience in a quality, R&D, or process engineering role.
