What to expect as a Director of Med/Surg:

• Administers, directs and coordinates activities of patient care within inpatient service areas.
• Is responsible for the recommendation, development and implementation of programs, services, and policies and procedures in this area and for keeping the CNO informed of both progress and potential problems.
• Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with physicians.
• Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Maintains interdepartmental quality controls, regulatory guidelines, departmental participation in performance improvement, and growth and development to recruit and retain competent staff.
• Develops, justifies, and maintains a fiscal plan (budget) for the Med/Surg unit and ongoing review of monthly performance and maintenance of budgeted FTE’s.
• Serves as House Supervisor as needed.
• Collaborates with Directors of other departments.

• Associate's degree in nursing
• 3-5 years of experience
• 0-1 years of experience in Supervision
• BLS required
