What’s the Role

The Director, National Accounts – Albertsons leads and grows F&S Fresh Foods’ national partnership with Albertsons across the Produce and Deli categories, serving as the single commercial owner for the account with responsibility for customer strategy, revenue growth, profitability, category expansion, and overall account performance across banners and divisions. You will develop and execute a comprehensive national account strategy that strengthens F&S’s position with Albertsons, expands existing business, identifies opportunities across divisions, categories, programs, and SKUs, and ensures disciplined execution of customer commitments. The ideal candidate brings strong fresh-foods expertise, financial and commercial acumen, executive-level customer influence, and an enterprise mindset. You will coordinate closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Product Development, Commercialization, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, and broker partners. Success will be measured by profitable revenue growth, expansion of F&S’s Produce and Deli business, customer retention and satisfaction, forecast and launch execution, and the strength of the overall strategic partnership.

What You’ll Own

• Develop and execute the national account strategy for Albertsons across Produce and Deli, aligned with F&S annual and long-range growth objectives, and lead joint business planning that establishes clear growth priorities, financial objectives, customer initiatives, and measures of success
• Identify and prioritize opportunities across Albertsons banners, divisions, regions, categories, programs, and SKUs; maintain a qualified opportunity pipeline that drives opportunities from customer insight and concept through commercialization, launch, and ongoing performance; and monitor category performance, competitive activity, pricing, consumer trends, and customer priorities to translate insights into actionable strategies
• Serve as F&S’s primary commercial leader and strategic point of contact for Albertsons nationally, creating one coordinated customer strategy across Produce and Deli, and build trusted relationships with senior leaders, merchants, category managers, procurement teams, supply chain partners, and divisional stakeholders
• Lead business reviews, customer presentations, and negotiations involving pricing, programs, promotions, innovation, and other commercial terms, anticipating customer needs and proactively developing solutions that create mutual value while protecting F&S’s commercial interests
• Lead resolution of escalated customer issues and ensure consistent communication across the enterprise and divisions
• Own the Albertsons account P&L and deliver annual revenue, contribution margin, and profitable growth objectives, leading account forecasting, annual planning, promotional planning, and budget inputs in partnership with Finance and Sales leadership
• Maintain pricing discipline by considering commodities, ingredients, packaging, labor, freight, customer allowances, promotional investments, and service requirements, and evaluate new and existing business using both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability, including operational feasibility and strategic value
• Monitor customer, category, program, and SKU performance, provide concise, fact-based updates on results, risks, opportunities, and required decisions, and maintain accurate forecasts, opportunity pipelines, account plans, and customer activity in applicable planning and CRM systems
• Represent Albertsons’ priorities internally while balancing customer expectations with F&S’s operational capabilities, profitability, quality standards, and strategic objectives, ensuring customer commitments are operationally and financially achievable before they are finalized
• Coordinate cross-functional execution of innovation, new products, promotions, transitions, seasonal programs, and other major customer initiatives, driving accountability for timely execution, identifying risks early, and escalating decisions with clear facts and recommended actions
• Align internal sales resources, broker partners, and divisional relationships around one national Albertsons strategy, and develop assigned team members with clear accountability, succession, and growth plans as the account team evolves

What You Bring

• Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Experience (must have) – 10+ years of progressive sales and national account management experience, preferably in fresh foods, Produce, Deli, refrigerated foods, prepared foods, or similarly perishable categories
• Retail account experience (must have) – Demonstrated experience managing a major national or large regional grocery retailer; direct Albertsons experience and relationships strongly preferred
• Category experience (nice to have) – Experience supporting both Produce and Deli, or closely related fresh-food categories, strongly preferred
• Growth track record (must have) – Demonstrated record of profitably growing strategic accounts through new products, programs, categories, divisions, or markets
• Skills (must have) – Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, financial-analysis, and cross-functional leadership capabilities
• Location (nice to have) – Western U.S. location strongly preferred
• Account leadership and results ownership – Takes ownership of the total Albertsons business and delivers profitable growth through disciplined planning, execution, follow-through, and accountability
• Strategic growth, fresh foods expertise, and commercial acumen – Translates customer, consumer, category, and competitive insights into strategies that expand F&S’s business, and uses sales, margin, pricing, category, and market data to make sound decisions that balance growth with profitability and feasibility
• Customer partnership, influence, and cross-functional leadership – Builds trusted relationships and influences outcomes that create customer value while protecting F&S’s interests, and creates alignment across functions to drive disciplined execution from opportunity identification through launch and ongoing performance
• Enterprise mindset and integrity – Demonstrates curiosity, sound judgment, adaptability, accountability, and a bias for action while acting in F&S’s best interests
