$115,000 – $125,000 base + performance-based bonuses ($15K–$25K potential)

Are you a seasoned residential designer or architect with a passion for luxury custom homes and the leadership skills to guide a high-performing design team? We’re looking for a dynamic Residential Director of Architecture & Design to oversee and contribute to the delivery of stunning, complex residential projects from concept to construction.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and mentor a collaborative team of 4–5 designers (including architectural and landscape specialists)


• Serve as lead designer on marquee projects (~$10M new custom homes or $1.5M+ remodels)


• Own the full lifecycle of residential design projects, including design visioning, planning approvals, and coordination with engineers and sales


• Guide the team to ensure all plans meet internal quality standards, permitting regulations, and legal/code compliance


• Collaborate closely with clients, sales representatives, engineers, and planning departments to bring client visions to life


• Participate in business development efforts alongside teammates, attending client meetings and design consultations


• Handle a 15-mile project radius, working on both custom homes and select commercial projects ($250K–$5M)


• Assign and oversee projects within the team, review deliverables, and ensure timely, code-compliant outcomes

What We’re Looking For:

• 10+ years of experience in residential design or architecture (open to 5+ years for a rising star)


• Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience overseeing high-end residential or complex architectural projects


• Proficiency with CAD required; experience with Chief Architect is a major plus (training available)


• Creative, solutions-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across functions


• Comfort with client-facing responsibilities, including consultations, needs assessments, and design presentations


• Familiarity with permitting processes and local planning departments is preferred


• Background in modern design elements such as steel, glass, and complex structural systems


• Licensure as an architect is a plus, but not required
