Director of Business

The Director of Business oversees the deployment of FAME’s capital access strategies and tools, supporting Maine businesses and the economy. Serves as the senior relationship manager for FAME’s commercial customers and agency partners. 

The Director will represent FAME with financial institutions, investment funds, and economic development partners, while also attending key industry events. This position collaborates closely with internal leadership to ensure effective execution and drives new initiatives to position FAME as a catalyst for capital attraction and economic growth in Maine. 

In close collaboration with the Senior Loan Officer, Director of Customer Service & Operations, and the Senior Credit and Risk Officer, responsible for the origination of new loan relationships across FAME’s portfolio of products. 

• Four (4) year college required; preferably in business; background in management and finance plus specialized training in commercial lending, loan workout, or economic development finance (or an appropriate combination of education and work experience).
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in related field.
• Strong management skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong customer relationship management skills.
• Thorough knowledge of lending policies and procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office and loan servicing systems and requirements.
