Job Description - Director of Business Development

Our client is seeking a dynamic Director of Business Development with a consultative-like approach to fueling the growth of an exciting company. This role demands a proactive individual who can wear the hat of inside sales, outside sales experience and project manager. We are targeting a natural relationship builder with exceptional interpersonal communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. Key responsibilities include developing the sales pipeline, following up on warm leads, driving growth through innovative sales strategies, and representing the company nationally at events. Because this role involves travelling nationally to conferences and meetings, the ideal candidate will have experience traveling in a former role and enjoy the variety of being both in an office and traveling in the sales field. This is an exciting position to get in front of people and network with motivated clientele in a highly niche industry and network within the industry while playing a pivotal role in the company's growth story.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and revive sales opportunities.
Maintain strong relationships with current clients.
Travel nationally to represent the company at about 25 conferences per year.
Network with C-level executives at events and dinners.
Attend meetings with key decision-makers.
Respond to prospective client inquiries via phone and email.
Update and maintain CRM (Salesforce) with new data and reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience in the sales field
4-year degree
Excellent networking with a strong business disposition
Proactive, self-reliant, responsible, and confident
Strong communication skills – written and oral
Professional sales travel experience
COMPENSATION/OTHER :
$85,000-90,000 based on experience, bonus incentives. Comprehensive group benefit plan. Our team believes that collaborating together in our beautiful River North office Monday-Friday is important. This is an in-office position with minimal over-time and a great work/life balance.
