Director of Case Management - Registered Nurse Case Manager RN

Director of Case Management Job Summary

The Case Management Director provides 24-hour leadership and accountability for the clinical practice and operational functions for case management. Ensures quality services for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients by collaborating intra/interdepartmentally with staff, colleagues, administration, physicians and others. Effectively manages materiel, fiscal and human resources. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures; regulatory/accrediting body requirements; and professional practice standards.

Director of Case Management Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Provides leadership for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of safe, cost-effective care delivered within the case management department.
  • Develops and supervises the case management staff.
  • Maintains knowledge/ensures compliance of and serves as resource for hospital policies and procedures, professional practice standards and regulatory body requirements.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and communicates information to staff in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates, communicates and maintains effective relationships with staff, physicians, other healthcare providers and colleagues, and the community.
  • Assumes accountability for the cost-effective financial performance for all resources within the area(s) of responsibility.
  • Prepares, monitors and responds to variances in the operating and capital budgets.
  • Performs needs assessments and provides/coordinates educational activities to provide for the learning needs of staff.
  • Assesses and addresses competencies of staff.

Requirements Include

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Nursing education.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
  • Current licensure to practice professional Nursing in the State of Ohio (Registered Nurse)
  • Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in a hospital setting.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience.
  • Acute care experience preferred
  • Current certification as a Case Management Administrator preferred.

If you put in 3% of your wages after a year of service and 1000 hours worked, you’d be eligible for an additional 3% and match 1.5% of your contributions for a total of 7.5%.
  • Directors: For every hour worked .1038 hours of PTO. If exempt/working 40 hours a week, after a year accumulates to 5.4 weeks of PTO. That then rolls over year to year. Directors and VPs are also offered 1.5x their salary for life insurance and AD+D.
