Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Christian Education to join our ministry team at Bethany United Methodist Church. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for teaching and helping others grow in their faith. This individual will oversee all aspects of our Christian education program, including children, youth, and adult ministries.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive Christian education program for children, youth, and adults that aligns with the mission and vision of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Provide effective leadership and training for a team of volunteers and staff involved in Christian education.
Plan and coordinate outreach events to engage the wider community in our Christian education program.
Collaborate with the pastoral staff to integrate Christian education into worship and other church activities.
Create and oversee curriculum for all age groups, focusing on topics such as faith formation, spiritual practices, biblical literacy, and social justice.
Develop and maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding upcoming events, curriculum, and other updates.
Monitor and manage the Christian education budget, making recommendations for improvements and cost-saving measures.
Attend regular staff meetings and participate in the overall planning and visioning for the church.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Christian education, theology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
At least 3-5 years of experience in leading Christian education programs in a church setting.
Strong understanding of Christian doctrine and United Methodist theology.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of volunteers and staff.
Experience working with children, youth, and adults of all ages.
Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Christian education.
Creative and innovative thinker with the ability to develop new and engaging programs for all age groups.
