Job Description - Director of Clinical & Recovery Services

YWCA Northeast Indiana is a dynamic and growing organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families to overcome challenges and build a brighter future. We provide a full continuum of care, encompassing crisis shelter, addiction recovery, educational programs, and comprehensive services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. 

Purpose: This pivotal role ensures the effective administration and integrity of all clinical and recovery services programs, directly impacting the lives of survivors. The Director leads a dedicated team in providing high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to individuals and their families impacted by addictions, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse, and/or incest.

  • Provide collaborative support to other departments and staff to ensure comprehensive program services.

Essential Duties:

Therapeutic Leadership & Supervision:

  • Provide direct supervision to a team of 5 therapists, recovery services case managers, and peer recovery specialists, fostering their professional growth and ensuring adherence to clinical best practices.
  • Offer crucial therapeutic input through active participation in program development meetings, provision of clinical consultations, clinical assessments, and delivery of agency-wide training sessions.
  • Lead program planning, development, implementation, evaluation, training, and quality assurance initiatives for all Recovery Services staff, ensuring trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.
  • Ensure that group therapy opportunities are provided to clients.

Documentation, Reporting & Compliance:

  • Evaluate and develop services to effectively address evolving client needs.
  • Ensure that meticulous clinical records are maintained, including client charts and documentation, in strict accordance with program requirements and CARF accreditation standards.
  • Provide and monitor the timely completion of assessments and treatment plans, ensuring seamless coordination with finance staff for accurate and timely billing.
  • Comply fully with all applicable state, federal, and local laws and adhere to the highest ethical standards of practice.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary forms required by local, state, and federal organizations related to grants, licensure, certification, or accreditation.
  • Ensure the consistent maintenance of all accreditation standards.
  • Guarantee strict adherence to all HIPAA and documentation requirements to protect client confidentiality.
  • Oversee the quality and compliance of all outgoing reports, ensuring they meet established guidelines.
  • Verify that communications with clients' referral entities are prompt and comprehensive, keeping them informed of progress, challenges, and goals.
  • Ensure that Master Treatment Plans and monthly plan reviews align with program guidelines.
  • Ensure all clinical and recovery services staff meet professional development training requirements according to program and continuing education standards.

Community Engagement & Outreach:

  • Actively represent YWCA Northeast Indiana within the local recovery and therapeutic services community, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration.
  • Proactively promote the agency's comprehensive services statewide to potential referral sources, cultivating partnerships and expanding reach.
  • Share detailed information about YWCA services to secure referrals and enhance community awareness.
  • Continuously research emerging trends and best practices in Addictions, Domestic Violence, and Sexual Assault to ensure program enhancement and innovation.

Administrative Leadership & Management:

  • Monitor key productivity indicators of clinical and recovery services staff, including residential census, therapeutic billing units, staff turnover, and client turnover, to meet program and billing outcomes effectively.
  • Serve as a member of the Leadership Team, actively and collectively engaging in strategic planning initiatives for the overall direction and growth of the agency.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance and development teams to pursue grant funding opportunities and effectively administer and report on department-specific awarded grants.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with other YWCA departments and staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in the Administrative On-Call rotation as required after the 90 day probationary period. 
  • Undertake other duties as assigned to meet evolving service goals.

Requirements

 

Education:

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCAC, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or HSPP in the state of Indiana is required.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemical dependency, addiction issues, and evidence-based treatment modalities is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of domestic violence and sexual assault dynamics, their impact on individuals, and effective intervention strategies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and respectfully with diverse populations, including clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Proven ability to supervise others respectfully and effectively, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, networking, team building, and public speaking.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality in sensitive situations.
  • Exceptional time management skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace (Gmail, Word, Excel).
  • 3-5 years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience with general office equipment (copiers, printers).
  • Highly accurate, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records and files.
  • Must comply with the organization's automobile insurance policy, possessing a valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance coverage.

Physical/Mental Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to engage in physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and moderate lifting and carrying (up to 40 pounds).
  • Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.  
  • Work is performed primarily in a non-smoking office environment, though travel may expose employee to inclement weather conditions. 
  • Occasional high stress may be experienced in dealing with clients, staff and volunteers.
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours as needed to meet program demands. The expectation of every Leadership Team member is that they will work 40-45 hours per week on average.
