Overview: The Director of Clinical Operations provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for the organization's integrated medical clinic and pharmacy operations. This position serves as both the Practice Administrator for medical operations and the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered, and financially sustainable healthcare services.
The Director is responsible for operational excellence, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, strategic growth, and implementation of innovative clinical and pharmacy programs. Working collaboratively with executive leadership, providers, and community partners, this role advances integrated care models, improves patient access and outcomes, and supports the LGBT Life Center's mission through effective leadership, operational management, and clinical expertise.
This is a full time, salaried exempt position. Reports to the CEO. This position is a member of the executive leadership team.

Essential Responsibilities
Executive Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership for integrated medical clinic and pharmacy operations.
- Contribute to organizational planning, growth, and sustainability initiatives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and patient-centered care.
- Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations, community partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies and represent the LGBT Life Center in healthcare partnerships and community initiatives.
Practice Administration
- Serve as the Practice Administrator for all medical operations.
- Oversee & lead daily clinic operations, staffing, patient flow, scheduling, and operational performance.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and workflows that promote efficiency and quality care.
- Monitor key performance indicators, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics while leading continuous operational improvement.
- Monitoring provider schedules, clinic productivity, patient access, and appointment utilization.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, staff development, and lead implementation of new clinical services.
- Oversee clinical vendor relationships, laboratory contracts, medical equipment, and service agreements to ensure quality, compliance, cost-effectiveness, and operational continuity.
Pharmacy Leadership & Implementation
- Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations.
- Lead pharmacy operations, including medication safety, inventory management, quality assurance, and clinical pharmacy services.
- Design, implement, and oversee pharmacist-led clinical services, including medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Promote evidence-based prescribing by providing medication education and clinical guidance to healthcare providers.
- Lead the planning, licensing, implementation, staffing, and launch of the organization's on-site pharmacy while ensuring uninterrupted patient access to medications.
Clinical & Financial Operations
- Partner with providers and leadership to improve patient access, integrated care, clinical workflows, and service expansion.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor financial performance, analyze operational data, and identify opportunities for revenue growth and sustainability.
- Lead implementation and optimization of the HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program and support payer contracting and credentialing activities.
Quality, Compliance & Staff Development
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, regulatory readiness, and corrective action planning.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and develop clinic and pharmacy staff while promoting teamwork, professional growth, and an inclusive workplace aligned with the LGBT Life Center's mission and values.
